Salt Creek State Beach
I can’t believe we haven’t been to Salt Creek State Beach before this summer. Located in Dana Point adjacent to the Ritz Carlton, this beach has something for everybody.
Bluff Park is a grassy knoll overlooking the beach with picnic tables, barbecues, even basketball courts and of course, a great view. Salt Creek Beach, known for its surfing, also has a concession stand, restrooms, showers and parking for a dollar an hour. Leave time to explore the tide pools.
The only caveat is that you must carry all your beach gear down the hill and back up again so you might want to keep that in mind when you’re deciding what to bring.
This beach has that unique Southern California feel of a great public beach nestled between and surrounded by luxury properties.
