As the ball drops in Time Square, the Great Park balloon will descend
If you’re looking for something fun to do with your family on New Year’s Eve, head on over to the Great Park in Orange County and enjoy the festivities before counting down to 2012, East Coast time.
Beginning at 5:00, activities include carousel rides, kid’s crafts and a United Way “Midway” hosting carnival-style games and raffles. All proceeds will benefit Orange County families in need. Military vehicles and vintage cars will also be on display.
Stop by the Hanger 244 Lounge, check out the D.J. and enjoy dancing to disco-era tunes. Live music begins at 7:00 presented by Southland Mega Groove performing music from each decade from the 1940′s to the present.
A variety of food vendors will be selling gourmet food and alcohol-free refreshments.

At 8:30 the park transforms into a New Year’s Eve bash with streamers, party hats, noisemakers and as the ball drops in Time Square, the Orange Balloon will descend at the Great Park.
The celebration ends at 9:30, leaving plenty of time to put the kids to bed and celebrate yet another party, Pacific Standard time.
Admission to this event is free but there is a $10 Parking fee and entrance into the park for this special event will be at Trabuco off Jeffrey road.
